Full three dimensional Lake Freighter Weathervane.

The entire hull is made from heavy gauge sheet copper. Here you see one of the sides cut out receiving detailing.

Solid brass wire is fully soldered into the joints to strengthen them.

“Dave,
I finally had some time to sit down and take a close look at the work being done on the freighter. like everything else on this building I made sure to hire the best and use the best building materials for its construction. I am very impressed with work being done to create the Freighter Weathervane    – cant wait to see it completed.”

The transition piece from deck level to hull level was sculpted to fit perfectly.

Creating the the pilot house, aft cabin and related details.

All the details have been made and added to the ship as well as the bottom coated.

    Dave,
I have been busy at work the past few weeks so I have not been watching the build updates till now. The Freighter Weathervain looks like it could float across Lake Erie!! I am in landscape construction and have been for the past 30 years. I take a pile of bricks and top soil and turn it into a home owners dream on a weekly basis – its second nature to me and not much impress me out there. But you my friend along with your fellow artist have just created one the most impressive things I have ever seen. And I am so excited to have the Freighter stand watch over my new building.
