Thank you for your interest in my Weathervanes. I am very sorry, but due to the fact that I presently have a three year backlog and my health has not been optimal, I am not currently accepting custom work. Please seriously consider one of the weathervanes I have in stock for your home or project.

Custom weather vanes are as marvelous to create as they are to see. Sculpting a new form into existence knowing that it will be observed from below long after I am gone is my life’s goal. Using my imagination to conceive new designs that no one has seen before, and appreciate enough to dedicate a place of honor on their home for all to see is what drives me.
I love weathervanes! I’m passionate about what I do and I have been doing it for over 30 years.
Styles
Start with an idea for a design that does not already exist. Chances are that’s why you are on this page. Next, you have to decide what your budget is, the size you need, and the style that works best for you.

The 3 basic styles are:
1. Half Body Figure Weathervanes; are the most common. Sheet copper is hand hammered into the outline of the piece so the details are puffed out where appropriate. Figures are often mounted on an arrow. $2000 and up.
2. 3/4 Body Figure Weathervanes; are the best of both worlds. These dynamic figures are created by combining several half body parts to create the impression of a full body figure without the cost of one. $5000 and up.
3. Full Body Figures; are well-detailed, full three-dimensional, hand-sculpted copper figure weathervanes – $10,000 and up.
Here's How To Proceed
Once you have decided on a budget and style and have an idea of size, fill out the online Custom Quote Request questionnaire and send it to me for a detailed quote. To agree on a quote and proceed, sign and return the quote with a check for a deposit of $500 to approve it. A 50% deposit (USD) of the final total is required for silhouette weathervanes. The balance isn’t due until the weathervane is done. Your quote will contain an estimated lead time. If there are workmen on site now and you would like them to install the post, which is the more difficult and essential element of the installation, the weathervane’s post can be advanced once the deposit is received. Just write “Advance Post” on the order. Now the Fun Begins!
I will begin to research the subject of your figure and the most interesting ways to bring your idea to life. I will create an initial rough sketch and then hone it based on your feedback. Once I start sculpting, a blog will be started with the final drawing. Pictures, videos, and narratives will be added to the blog as the project progresses. This is actually an interactive process and you are the honored guest to the blog. We look forward to your feedback, enjoy answering questions about what we do, and love receiving compliments!
