A 27″ long Rams Head Weathervane with gold leaf fleece.

The design is enlarged to full size on paper. Every detail is transferred to the copper sheet then precisely hand cut.

Texture and form is hammered into each piece completely from the mind of the sculptor. No molds are used.

The two main sides of the rams head almost ready to be soldered together.

The two sides are mated then soldered together to form the head.

The detailed horns are created in almost the same way that the head was formed.

Once the head is together the ears and horns are added, then the completed head is added to the arrow.

A yellow pigmented primer formulated for non ferrous metals is used as a binder between the copper and the gold leaf size (adhesive). Once dry, the size is brushed onto the surface and allow to dry about 90% when it will be ready for the gold leaf.
