Each piece is cut by hand then the detail is added by ‘chasing’ it into the copper.
The body of the fish is sculpted into shape.
Soldering the 2 halves together to form the main body.
Tyler has made the arrow and added the main body to it..
The jacket , fin, and back leg have been added. Tyler is sculpting the arms next.
proposed color scheme. The brown is copper. The yellow will be gold leaf, and the gray will be bonded tin..
The fishing hat has been added and the bonded lead/tin accents areas are done.
The fishing pole and “kids” detail is added..
Tyler is hand rubbing the bronze finish into the copper..
Here, Tyler is applying the special primer for the gold leaf to the accent areas.
Maggie is applying the sizing (glue) for the gold leaf.

Tyler is David’s apprentice. While Tyler may just be starting his journey, his work does not show it. His work is exceptional for an apprentice and the prospects for his future are bright.
