Initial customer supplied concept art.
The design is planned in sections then the details are chased into the copper.
Once the detail lines are hammered in, the texture is added.
The legs are next.
All the parts have been sculpted. Jon is starting to solder everything together.
The eagle body is attached to the spindle tube and arrow assembly.
Trimming and attaching the legs and wings.
It’s coming together nicely and almost complete.
The crown has been added, the copper treated for the bronze finish, and the appropriate details have been primed for the golf leaf.
Jon is one of the world’s up and coming weathervane sculptors. His pieces are solid, beautiful examples of a traditional trade. His work often goes home with him as chasing has become a hobby for him. Jon usually handles the larger and more complex pieces.
