The Faneuil Hall Grasshopper Weathervane design.

Each piece of the design is hand cut from the highest quality Revere sheet copper, then the details are hand hammered into the copper using time honored ‘chasing’ techniques.

The body is stretched into shape by hand hammering to push out the detail from the inside.

The next step is to carefully contour and smooth the copper with lots more tapping.

With one side done, the opposite side is next.

Making the legs.

The holes are cut and the green glass eyes inserted.

Soldering the body together.

Ready for clean up!
