The Gordon setter design has been popular since first designed 20 years ago.
Each piece of the design is hand cut and the details hand “chased” into the copper.
The main body is basically textured by hand then body, muscle tone, and coat texture is sculpted into the piece.
Further shaping the halves.
With the two halves sculpted, they are now getting soldered together.
The body is ready for the ears and raised leg.
Time for sanding and cleaning.
The finished weathervane.
Jon is one of the world’s up and coming weathervane sculptors. His pieces are solid, beautiful examples of a traditional trade. His work often goes home with him as chasing has become a hobby for him. Jon usually handles the larger and more complex pieces.
