Copper Roof Caps are used on turrets, towers, gazebos, or any architectural peak needing a finishing touch. Use a roof cap to transform a blunt peak to a point, completing the intended architecture. Our caps can be ordered and installed alone or combined with our finials or weathervanes to function as a graceful transition between them and the sky.
Each cap is made by hand in my own studio out of 16 – 24 ounce/110-grade copper sheet to fit your unique roof specifications. Copper is used for its extreme durability and resistance to any kind of corrosion or bacteria. Copper’s maintenance-free longevity is unmatched. Bronze screws are recommended for attaching caps. Never use nails or stainless steel fasteners to attach caps. Screws are not included due to the wide variety of installation circumstances. Seams are overlapped and soldered. It is recommended to leave copper caps natural (without any finish coating). The leathery brown and later mossy green patinas are surface barriers copper creates to protect itself. Many find the earthy tones beautiful but I’m glad to paint, lead coat, or gold leaf your cap on request. Choose from small simple one size fits all bases or custom-made form-fitting caps.
