Each bump in the copper is a strike by a hammer. A variety of hammers is used during the process. The artist decides which one is used as he works.
Once the bodies are assembled they are mounted and braced to the 54″ arrow then the remaining details are added to the figures.
After the last piece is added to the sculpture, the soldering is tidied up. The entire piece receives the etched sulfur treatment then is hand rubbed back to bring out the warmth of the copper color and to highlight the textures.
