The 1912 Blacksmith design based on customer supplied artwork.
The construction of the design is carefully planned out in advance, then the major components are cut out by hand from copper sheet. Next the detail is hand embossed by chasing the detail into the copper with specially made chasing tools.
The areas between the chasing lines are bodied out by hand hammering to stretch and work harden the copper then smoothed on an anvil.
The process is repeated for each component.
Details are tinned before final detailing and soldering.
