The Murder of Crows Weathervane design by David Ferro
Each piece of the sculpture is hand cut from 24 gauge sheet copper.
Each crow body is 4 pieces; top, bottom, and 2 sides. They are textured then hammer work-hardened.
Tail pieces ready.
Making the feather arrow is very time consuming work.
A plethora of parts ready to be assembled.
Assembling the heads
Each head is 4 pieces that have to be meticulously fitted and attached.
The crows have heads and are mounted on the armature. Jon is getting ready to prepare the feather arrow.
Lead ballast is added to the front of the feather arrow to help balance the figure.
The feather is permanently added to the crows.
Most of the crows is done and has been cleaned.
