The copper tube frame for the banner is made.

Each part is hand cut from 100% copper sheet then hand sculpted freehand to the shape in the artists mind that matched the subject.

A finished side.

The figure is made of two sides that are ready to be soldered together..

Soldering the fox together.

The requested changes have been made and the banner is assembled.

Two views of the fox’s ears as requested. Tinned accents will be added next.

Here are the revised ears.

It’s looking great! Thank you for the edits! I can’t see the ears too well in the photos; is there any tinning on the front/insides?

Can’t wait to see the directionals!

The adjustments and changes have been made and the piece is almost done. What do you think?

Thanks so much for working on this! I would like the fox to look realistic, and for the weathervane to have a Victorian feel overall.

The fox’s front feet look a little bit like hooves from a distance and don’t seem to go with the back feet. Adjusting the shape of the feet and the shape of the bent leg to look a little more like a real fox leg would reduce the hoof-like appearance.

The back feet look a little too modern because of the slightly exaggerated toe shape. Please make it more subtle and more similar to the front feet.

Also, I would like to see some sort of lines/texture drawn on the fox that shows the areas of the fox that are normally white (face, chest, belly, tail tip) versus red. I suppose if it doesn’t show up with the texture, maybe we should reconsider adding some gold leaf to show the color differences. Is it possible to wait to decide whether or not to add gold leaf accents after the banner is all done?

    Thanks!
