Creating a pair of 45″ hand sculpted copper weathervanes to adorn the Meile workshops barn. There is to be a woodworker and a blacksmith.
First plan out the parts then hand cut each piece from 100% Revere copper sheet.
Hand chased detail lines and texture are embossed into the face of the copper sheet.
Body is added by repousse from the inside of the piece.
Soldering the body together is a challenge and an art.
The arms are formed next.
The arms and tools are formed and added to the body.
